Daneesha Provo

Daneesha’s basketball journey is nothing short of extraordinary. A former member of Canada’s Senior National Team, she competed at the highest levels, representing her country with pride and determination. Her talent and relentless work ethic earned her a spot at Kent School, one of the top academic boarding schools in the United States, where she balanced elite-level basketball with rigorous academics  laying the foundation for her future success.

She went on to earn a Division I scholarship at the University of Utah, where she didn’t just play  she made an impact. Despite facing career-altering injuries, including a torn Achilles at the Olympic trials, Daneesha’s resilience never wavered. She graduated with two degrees: one in Health Science (Child Life emphasis) and another in Sociology with a minor in Disabilities Studies, proving that success extends far beyond the scoreboard.

Daneesha took her talents to the professional stage, playing in Germany, Greece, Australia, and China, where she continued to grow as an athlete while gaining a global perspective on the game.

Now, as the CEO of the Daneesha Provo Canadian Basketball Academy (DPCBA), and through her signed Nike partnership, she is paying it forward — using basketball as a tool to uplift young athletes, particularly African Nova Scotian girls, by providing opportunities for development, education, and exposure beyond the game. She is not just teaching the fundamentals, she's shaping futures.

A true game-changer, Daneesha Provo is more than an athlete. She is a leader, a role model, and a powerhouse advocate for student-athletes navigating the path to success. At the Uncover Your Essence Conference, she’s bringing her energy, experience, and game-changing insights to inspire the next wave of young athletes to dream big, work hard, and rise above every challenge.

This is more than just a workshop, it's a blueprint for success from someone who has lived it, conquered it, and is now passing the torch.
