Bryson Fitzpatrick

Bryson Fitzpatrick is from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, eventually

making his way to Truro, N.S. later in childhood. Being raised in a

combination of urban and rural settings, he quickly recognized the

racial divide prevalent in society today. Because of this, Bryson has

always been passionate about the advancement of Black Nova

Scotian communities and systematic equality through youth

engagement and support.

Bryson is a graduate from Cobequid Educational Centre (CEC), in

Truro, N.S., and was recruited by Mount Allison University (MTA) as a

student athlete, being a member of the Varsity Football Team. Upon

returning home to his community, he was motivated to give back

and pay it forward to the next generation through mentoring and

coaching. Bryson is entering his third year as the CEC Cougars

Receivers coach and has over seven years of volunteer youth

coaching experience including three years with Special Olympics

Nova Scotia.

In addition to his extensive coaching experience, Bryson has held a

variety of entry level to team leading positions in different fields. Most

recently, Bryson held a position in the automotive industry as a sales

and leasing consultant where he ranked second in sales in his first

year. He is eager to share the skills and expertise gained as a business

professional to inspire PREP students.

As a Student Success Coach at the PREP Academy, Bryson provides

African Nova Scotian high school students with academic support,

access to resources, information, and experiences to prepare them

for college and university. Bryson is dedicated to guiding African

Nova Scotian students by applying the experiences and knowledge

acquired as a student athlete and coach, towards surpassing their

academic, athletic, and personal goals
