Amberina Beals

Amberina Beals is an educator and mentor with roots in North Preston and Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has a passion for inspiring African Nova Scotian youth to learn, grow, and develop into their fullest potential.

Amberina describes her educational and professional journey as a lifelong process of self-discovery. Since graduating from Halifax West High School, she has studied and worked across various fields, holding roles from entry-level to management. Her nonprofit experience includes serving as a Project Youth Mentor, where she helped create a job-readiness program supporting youth facing systemic barriers to employment.

Amberina has an extensive history of community outreach and service. She currently serves on the Dartmouth Daycare Board and the Dartmouth East Education Committee. She is the proud mother of two children, Judah and Ace, and motherhood has been one of her greatest

teachers, deepening her awareness that today’s work directly shapes the opportunities of future generations.

Amberina currently serves as Director of Student Success and Experience at The PREP Academy. In this role, she supports a province-wide team of Student Success Coaches and oversees programming for both High School and College & University cohorts, helping guide African Nova Scotian students from high school into postsecondary education and their careers.
